Patagonia Fly Fishing, Argentina
Stone River Lodge offers a handcrafted fly fishing journey across the rivers of Patagonia: the Aluminé, Chimehuin, and Collon Curá. Each day is tailored—floating or wading—in search of wild trout in diverse waters, from intimate spring creeks to broad freestone rivers. Our programs unlock access to both iconic public rivers and rarely fished private waters—where solitude, scenery, and stalking trout come together in perfect rhythm.
This region’s long season, varied water types, and healthy populations of wild trout make it a fly angler’s sanctuary. And our deep-rooted knowledge ensures each session is more than fishing—it’s connection, discovery, and immersion.

Wild Trout & Quiet Luxury in Patagonia
On the Rivers: Wild Trout, Big Country
Mornings at Stone River Lodge start with strong coffee, mountain light, and maps on the table. Your guide checks flows and weather, then builds the day around you—maybe a drift boat on the Collon Curá, a wade session on the Aluminé, or an afternoon stalking bank feeders on the Chimehuin.
The variety is endless: long, glassy glides; riffles stacked with hungry browns; side channels where rainbows slide under overhanging willows. One day you’re throwing big dries on the banks, the next you’re working nymphs through deep seams or swinging streamers in the evening light. It’s technical when you want it to be, forgiving when you just want to cover water and unwind.
What never changes is the setting: big skies, distant peaks, and a sense of space that’s hard to put into words. There are moments when the only sounds are the line in the air, the river at your feet, and the soft click of a reel when a trout runs.
At the Lodge: Evenings by the Fire
Back at Stone River Lodge, the pace shifts. Waders hang to dry, rods get wiped down, and the day’s stories start to grow around the bar. Appetizers appear—local cheeses, house-made snacks, maybe something from the asador—while a glass of Malbec or a cold beer finds its way to your hand.
Dinners are unhurried and generous: regional flavors, seasonal ingredients, and that relaxed Patagonian style that makes you feel more like a guest than a client. After dessert, you might step outside to watch the last light fade over the hills, review photos, or tie a couple of flies for tomorrow.
By the time you turn in, the river’s rhythm is still in your head—and the simple, quiet luxury of the lodge makes it easy to rest and reset for another day on the water.
